UPDATE: Twitter Status reporta lo sucedido:

Users are running into a prompt for login on twitter.com. This is because of a misconfiguration error and we’re working to fix it right now.

Update: The fix for this has been pushed - you may see some residual prompts for login as the fix reaches all servers.
